The information we receive is stored in a secure locked filing cabinet which we lock in a secure unit within the dancing school

The information which is given to us is looked at by Mrs Linda Smith and Mrs Charlotte Kelly (Owners of the school), and in the case of a show (especially if inhalers etc… are needed) is shared with the licenced chaperone (The licenced chaperone is always known to the student) who is in charge of your child. This information is stored as above until your child decides to leave the school then it is stored in a secure locked filing cabinet in our home office for 5 years

Dancing is a physical skill. In order to help and facilitate the students learning, the teacher may occasionally physically guide a movement by touch. Parents are asked to sign this request; if it is not signed we do not touch the child.

We ask parents to allow us to photograph/video their child, and, to give The Island Dance and Theatre Company consent to use the photographs or video for marketing purposes?

i.e. website / leaflets/flyers/newspaper insertion etc

Parents are asked to sign this request, if no permission is given, theri child may not be able to appear in the school shows, summer schools or workshops as these are photographed/videoed..

We ask parents if their child needs to go toilet whilst in a class, and they are not in the dance school area, do they allow us to take their child to the toilet? (Only female staff will do this) Parents are asked to sign this request, if it is not signed we do not take the child to the toilet, and if the parent is not available in the building, then we stand outside the toilet door in full view of other patrons, but when the parent comes back we explain what happened and insure that they stay within the school whilst their child is dancing in future.

We ask parents regarding their child’s photos if they allow them to be displayed on our dancing school photo board /our annual show (when they are available to be purchased) and any advertising material e.g. leaflets/flyers/newspaper insertion Also, if their child leaves the school that we can still use and display their photos/videos on our marketing products for 5 years Parents are asked to sign this request, if it is not signed we do not keep any photos

We ask parents In our show programme, and other paperwork where we list the names of our performers, do they allow us to put their child’s full name in the programme? Parents are asked to sign this request, if it is not signed we do not include their name in the programme
