3.40pm – 4.10pm Streetdance/Commercial Dance

Street Dance is not Freestyle dance but is a  dance of young people. It offers opportunities for creative expression, giving a sense of freedom and a ‘voice’ through the means of music and dance.

Despite the improvisational nature of these street dances, participants wanted to learn their vocabularies and skills, and, to enable teachers to pass these on with safety and a high level of execution, Street Dance was incorporated into the IDTA syllabi so teachers could safely conduct classes.
