tap

IDTA tap

Tap has evolved as an American dance form, popularised throughout the world. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing tap shoes which have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals.

Using vibrant, energetic and fun syllabus combinations, students are developed through high quality, tried and tested grades.

We offer Tap to children and adults alike from the age of 2½ years. We enter our children and adults in the IDTA Tap syllabus. Tap is all about Rhythm and the flexibility of the foot striking the floor, beating different rhythms out with their toe and heel (metal plates on the shoes) to make a unique sound.  There are some brilliant shows which demonstrate just how amazing Tap is and how accomplished a Tap student can become.

Our pupils are entered first  into IDTA Rosettes.. then move on to IDTA Grades this is not compulsory though.
